This periodic table was proposed by Moseley. The physical and chemical properties of elements are periodic functions of their atomic number. The Moseley’s periodic table is also known as short form periodic table and it contains 7 periods and 9 groups. The ninth group is known as zero group and the elements are known as inert gases or ideal gases.

The first seven groups are sub-divided into A to B sub-groups.
